Sara Reinke's DARK THIRST vampire series (this is Book 1) fulfills any paranormal romance readers' desire to find something new and fresh. In this spin vampires' jaws unhinge into biting and snaping teeth, which is sure to give you a scare. The main character, Brandon, is deaf and mute and the heroine is a tough cop whose brother was Brandon's mentor. Together they must escape the elders who are out for Brandon's blood. Very dark and definitely a bit sad, this is a great read. You will never think your family is bad after reading this one. ;-)

This book is by far one of the best books I've read this year. The story is unexpected, gritty and exciting. It isn't your typical vampire romance, and the ending leaves you wondering. Luckily there is a sequel and I happen to know spoilers on it...hahamuhaa, and I'm sworn to secrecy.

Charlotte Hughs has a unique voice. She makes you laugh, she tugs at your heart, and she can spin a good tale. I think she could write about anything and it would be engaging. I enjoyed this book immensely. It's for anyone who is a little bit crazy!

This book is very intriguing. There is an elf, a half vampire/half human (the Dhampir), and a group of vampires (the bad guys). While I found this book very interesting and I enjoyed it, I didn't feel I got to know the main characters. I'm sure this is deliberate, to keep the reader intrigued and reading. I think with a deeper emotional level add to this book, it might have been much better. In any case, I've purchased the 2nd in the series and am waiting for it to arrive in my mail. I'll keep you posted on what I think of this series, but it is worth a read.
